Another feature we think families will love is the Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum cleaner. It’s no secret that families make messes on the road. From snack crumbs to broken crayons and glitter from an art class project, all sorts of debris can fill your cabin fast. With the Stow ‘n Vac system, you don’t need to drag your home vacuum cleaner out to the driveway to clean up the mess. You have a built-in vacuum cleaner in the rear of the vehicle that stows away when you aren’t using it.

One of the other features we think parents will appreciate is the retractable shades for the rear seats. #2 – Jeep Grand Cherokee L

With available four-wheel drive, this three-row SUV is perfect for families who like to explore remote destinations like national parks and hiking trails. Plus, it offers spacious seating for seven, with captain’s chairs in the second row and a bench seat in the third row.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L was designed to keep all three rows of passengers comfortable and offer space for everyone’s stuff. With both rear rows folded down, you get 84.6 cu.ft. of cargo space, and there are 46.9 cu.ft. behind the second row. If you get the Summit trim, your rear-seat passengers will enjoy a second-row console equipped with cupholders and a wireless charger, so teenagers in that phase where they need to be connected to friends 24/7 can be. Plus, all models feature soft armrests for all passengers, as well as tons of convenient storage compartments throughout the cabin. There shouldn’t be too many arguments over temperature, thanks to the tri-zone automatic climate control giving everyone command over their AC or heating.

#3 – Kia Telluride

Now we land at the Telluride, which is packed with features clearly designed with families in mind. It’s also a three-row SUV, and this model can actually accommodate up to eight passengers. Both second and third rows offer 60/40 split-folding designs that can adapt to your changing passenger and cargo needs. The second row even features a one-touch slide-and-fold feature that makes it easy for third-row passengers to access their seats.

Have rambunctious little ones? You’ll like the Driver Talk feature. It lets you project your voice through the rear speakers, so second and third-row passengers can always hear you (like when you tell them to stop bugging their sibling and to get back to work on their homework). Alternatively, if you want to create a quiet cabin, you can use Quiet Mode. It lets you mute the second and third-row speakers, which is helpful when you want to encourage on-the-road naps (you know, to reduce at-your-destination tantrums).

Do you need to stash valuables in your SUV? Take advantage of the concealed under-floor storage. It’s the ideal place to put things like phones or wallets when you see a lake and want to pull over for an impromptu family swim. The Telluride also has a Smart Power liftgate. All you have to do is stand behind it for three seconds with your smart key on your body, and it will automatically open. 

We also like to mention a great safety feature for families: Safe Exit Assist. It detects vehicles approaching when you are parked and prevents passengers from exiting if it isn’t safe to do so by activating the child locks. So when your kids get excited to jump out of the car and meet their friends, but another car is approaching, your Telluride will take over and keep them safe.
